To create the design narrative where we want to marry Library Bar’s rich heritage with a new timeless luxury approach, we employed broad stroke Art-Deco motif as backdrop, and filled the venue with fashion-forward hues and patterns, velvets textures and fringes, grandeur details, larger than life artwork, and story-telling styling. While paying homage to the roaring 20’s, where the elites would frequent the Library Bar for extravagant high tea parties, indulging whiskeys and caviar; the design reignites LB’s charm, while intricately balanced ambience, theatrics and eclectics. There are also subtle references to the original Library, where a commissioned oil painting of the first Chief Librarian of Toronto anchors above the fireplace, with decade-old library books blended in with the new styling bookshelves.
